Lars Sandahl Sørensen is presently Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). A leading European airline undergoing substantial transformation and performance improvements, in a highly competitive environment.
Sandahl Sørensen has over time acted as associate and senior advisor to selected PE Investors & Capital Funds. He also has a broad international experience and career as non-executive board member in a number of companies and funds. Additionally he has been active within board and executive leadership assessment and search.
Prior to his present roles Lars Sandahl Sørensen was Group Senior Vice President & Group Chief Commercial Officer with ISS World Services, the world leading facilities management service provider. ISS is globally present in 53 countries, employing more than 520.000 people worldwide.
Prior to this role Lars Sandahl Sørensen was Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer in Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and CEO for SAS International.
Sandahl Sørensen joined Scandinavian Airlines International in 2003 as General Manager, Australia & Pacific. In September 2006, he returned to Scandinavia and took on the role as Chief Commercial Officer in SAS International. A year later he became SAS International’s Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to SAS, Sandahl Sørensen was CEO of the Danish Tourist Board/Visit Denmark. Before that he was Director of the Scandinavian Promotion Board in Tokyo and has furthermore held positions in Danish Industries (DI), IKEA and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He holds University degrees in business administration and economics.
